umm…can we talk about this?
anyone care to share their thoughts?
cuz this is some freaky business.
essentially, the california prison system has been using this unregulated form of a lethal injection drug. it’s supposed to numb the patient as the other two lethal injection drugs begin to shut down the body’s functions. apparently there have been claims that this unregulated drug, which came from a tiny one-man wholesaler from somewhere in London, doesn’t actually do the numbing, causing patients to consciously feel their deaths happening.
i personally can’t think of anything more terrifying than lying on a table, feeling myself suffocating, feeling my heart stopping…
now the prison system is refusing to obey a court order that says they have to give up the drug.
but the end of the article suggests that the anesthetic is commonly used in the u.s. for numbing. so…who knows what’s going on here.
but i recommend reading the article first:
and then commenting second…
seems to me that california should be able to use the foreign drug. its been independently tested and found to be good. what’s the problem? big pharmaceutical companies not making money? against free market? liberal agenda?
did the condemned criminal give any consideration to his victim? i have a better idea than lethal injection, lets subject the criminals to the same manner of death they metered out to their victim.
